Consultation results 2: Landline quality

There have been complaints about landline quality for sometime in the village.  We wanted to find out how common these were.

The results show that most people who responded had ‘occasional noise’ or ‘noise some of the time’.  Only a minority stated ‘clear as a bell’.

The providers of landlines are shown below.  However, these are just retailers.  All landlines in Springfield are provided by Openreach via these retailers.

We are intending to ask Openreach to address these problems.
There were 5 postcodes with two or more responses complaining of poor service; they were:

KY15 5RY
KY15 5SD
KY15 5SE
KY15 5SH
KY15 5SQ

If you are affected, come to our next meeting on 13th June, 7:30pm at the Church Hall

New Phone Mast proposed for Springfield

The Community Council have been notified of a pre-planning consultation for a new phone mast in the village.  We understand that this is on behalf of Vodaphone/O2 – which as we know has really poor coverage.

The proposed location of the 12.5m mast is in the grass area at the corner of Main St and Crawley Crescent.

Some of the proposed plans have been posted in the Display Board outside the shop and they can also downloaded at this link (3Mb) CTIL201216_TEF74732_GA_RevC (planning).

Any comments for or against can be sent to Springfield Community Council:
