Springfield Community Council was forcibly dissolved by Fife Council in September 2026 because we did not have an operational bank account, and did not open a bank account when Fife Council asked us to.

Springfield Community Council has been financially dormant for the last 2 years or more, and has not applied for any grants from Fife Council or elsewhere. Therefore, while having a bank account is technically a constitutional requirement, it has been irrelevant to the operation of the Community Council as a representative body for the villages.Though financially dormant, we continued to meet and to pursue issues that matter to residents.

Springfield Community Council area covers the villages of Springfield and Stratheden near Cupar in Fife.

The Community Council work on behalf of the residents in this area, and we very open to their input.  We have a maximum of 10 members, and a minimum of 5 members on the Community Council.   We welcome new members who can be co-opted to the Community Council between elections.  If you are interested in being part of this, please contact us or just come to a meeting.

We are supported by 3 Fife Councillors in our ward (Ward 21 Cupar).  We also work closely with our local development trust Springfield Community Company Ltd which continues to exist.

We usually held 5 ordinary meetings per year, plus occasional extra-ordinary meetings for special issues such as major development proposals.

Our meetings are public and we welcome input from residents at the meeting.
